ILOILO CITY โ In a ceremony that honored the regionโs public-service standouts, Land Transportation Office โ Region VI Director Atty. Gaudioso P. Geduspan II was honored as a Regional Winner of the Gawad Dangal ng Bayan, receiving a Plaque of Recognition from the Civil Service Commission โ Region VI at the Pasidungog sa mga Lingkod Bayani sa Rehiyon at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel.

Itโs not just the plaque thatโs getting talked about. Under Geduspanโs watch, LTO-6 has been rewriting the playbook: pairing a hard line against corrupt schemes with a rapid rollout of digital services meant to make old shortcuts obsolete.
โWe didnโt come here to tinker around the edges,โ Geduspan told the audience as he accepted the award. โThis recognition is not mine, but OURS โ as an LTO family. We move forward to make a lasting legacy of excellent service, integrity and accountability.โ
The numbers back the claim. LTO-6โs anti-fixing campaign produced 86 cases filed and 23 prosecutions, including a widely publicized bust connected to fake driverโs licenses. At the same time, the regional office accelerated a shift to e-services โ launching online platforms for vehicle registration and driver licensing designed to speed transactions and shrink opportunities for graft.

Beyond enforcement and tech, the regional office broadened its reach with strengthened road-safety campaigns targeting drivers and commuters alike. The Civil Service Commission highlighted the officeโs willingness to apply the law evenly โ even under political pressure โ as a key reason for the award.
Public officials say Geduspanโs leadership is notable for its three-part formula: visible enforcement, behind-the-scenes modernization, and sustained public education. The result, supporters say, is a region where shortcuts are being swapped for systems โ and where everyday transport is safer and more efficient for Ilonggos.
As LTO-6 basks in recognition, the message from its director was clear: a trophy is fine, but real work โ fewer fixes, faster service, safer roads โ is what will keep the momentum rolling.
