LTO Region-6 Empowers Road Safety with Free Theoretical Driving Course for Parc Regency Residents
In a proactive effort to promote road safety and responsible driving, the Land Transportation Office Region 6 (LTO-6) recently conducted a free 15-hour Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) for 47 residents of Parc Regency in Brgy. Balabag, Pavia, Iloilo.
The initiative, held on February 25-26, 2025, at the Parc Regency Clubhouse, was organized in response to a request from the Parc Regency Homeowners Association. The program attracted a diverse group of participants—29 men and 17 women—all eager to gain the essential knowledge required for safe driving and to fulfill the mandatory prerequisite for obtaining a new driver’s license.

The TDC is designed to equip future motorists with critical insights into traffic laws, road safety practices, and responsible driving habits. Expertly led by Ms. Mel Joy Gaurano of LTO-6’s Traffic Safety Unit, the course was facilitated by seasoned educators Ryan John A. Apalacio and Bernard C. Bacay. Their sessions, supported by the LTO Iloilo City Driver’s Education Center, ensured that the training met the highest standards.
“This program is vital in creating safer roads by making driver education accessible to all,” said LTO-6 Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso P. Geduspan II.
Assistant Regional Director Jeck Conlu also praised the initiative, emphasizing its role in fostering a culture of disciplined and responsible road use.

Participants expressed heartfelt appreciation for the free training, noting that it not only simplified the licensing process but also deepened their understanding of proper road etiquette and accident prevention techniques.
Buoyed by the overwhelmingly positive response, LTO-6 plans to expand similar initiatives across Western Visayas, reaffirming its commitment to enhancing road safety education for communities throughout the region.

As LTO-6 continues to champion innovative and community-focused approaches to driver education, the future of road safety in the region looks brighter than ever. Stay tuned as LTO-6 drives forward, building safer roads and a stronger community for all.
