LTO Region 6 Assistant Director Jeck Conlu Inspires Guimaras State University Graduates

Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6 Assistant Regional Director Jeck Conlu delivered a compelling and motivational address during the 54th commencement exercises of Guimaras State University, underscoring the vital role of public service, integrity, and inclusivity in building a stronger nation.

Speaking before graduates, faculty, and esteemed guests, ARD Conlu praised the perseverance and dedication of the graduating class, acknowledging the hard work that led them to this milestone. “Your higher academic pursuits have prepared you not only for personal success but also for public service. The knowledge and skills you have acquired are tools to be wielded for the betterment of our communities,” he remarked.

As an alumnus of Guimaras State University, where he earned his Master in Public Administration degree, ARD Conlu drew a meaningful parallel between public service and addressing traffic congestion, a challenge he has encountered in his professional career.

He highlighted the importance of innovation, planning, and collaboration in solving complex issues. “As public servants, you will face challenges that demand creativity, perseverance, and inclusivity. I am confident that you are equipped to rise to these challenges,” he assured the graduates.

ARD Conlu urged the new graduates to uphold transparency, accountability, and integrity in their future roles as public administrators. “You must be champions of good governance, ensuring that power is exercised for the benefit of all. Your actions must reflect honesty and integrity, even when no one is watching,” he emphasized, highlighting the importance of building trust between government institutions and the people they serve.

He also stressed the value of inclusivity, advocating for policies that embrace diversity and promote equity. “By promoting inclusivity, you will be building a society that celebrates differences, strengthens unity, and ensures fairness. Effective public service must reflect the needs of every individual,” ARD Conlu noted.

Drawing inspiration from the resilience and strength of the people of Guimaras, ARD Conlu encouraged graduates to become catalysts of positive change in their communities. He reminded them that public administration plays a critical role in shaping institutions and systems that will serve generations to come.

ARD Conlu concluded his address with a powerful quote from Nelson Mandela: “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” He called on the graduates to face the future with courage, resilience, and a deep commitment to making a meaningful impact in society.
